A great response to our collaboration with Lee Eelus with prints sent as far afield as Japan, Demark, Germany, Spain and the USA.
First appearing as a mural on the streets of Brighton, The Dance was painted shortly after the end of the COVID lockdowns as part of a new art trail encouraging the local community to step back outside and explore their streets again.
Working with the theme of community and kindness, Lee created the piece in keeping with his newly emerging style separate from his stencil work; balancing both literal and abstract, with interlocking forms of flat vivid colour dancing across the wall. A nod to Matisse’s work of the same title can be seen as Lee’s starting point, but the final piece arriving somewhere quite different.
